4 Stars Works all right, and does what is intended
We have a few of these at work for people to dump their loose change into (we then count the loose change and donate it to charity). However have been times where you have to force the coin in, and when you do it mis-registers. (a nickle is seen as a quarter, and a dime as a nickle) thereby giving false reads for the total.
1 Star Counting mechanism makes too many mistakes.
This bank is probably great for the kid who has an occasional coin to save, but the counting mechanism is a little too faulty for someone who really wants to “count their pennies”. Oftentimes when my son puts in a nickel it registers a quarter. That might be fine if you notice at the time AND have the money to add to make up the difference, but if not, then your counter won’t be accurate for the contents. Overall we aren’t satisfied with this product.
The style also doesn’t match what was in the picture on Amazon, but that has nothing to do with the bank itself. Just beware that what you receive may not be what you ordered.
4 Stars GREAT FIRST BANK, MAKES IT FUN TO SAVE
Both my Son and my Daughter received this bank for Christmas and they love it. They have been using this bank for several weeks now without any problem. It has made it fun for them to save their money up. It’s cool how it automatically counts all of your change and gives the total on the LCD screen. The screen never turns off so you can easily check you balance at any time. It’s a really good bank but I wish they would have made larger.
5 Stars Fun Way to save change and know how much is there.
I’m an adult and got this for myself so that I’ll know how much change is there and when to roll it. When I first opened the box and saw the white box I thought man it’s going to be small. Well that was an optical illision it is hefty. It’s like a shorter fatter Quart canning Jar.
I went gathering all my change around the house here and there and found I already had $16.78 that was a surprise.
I’d say this is great gift for kids and adults. It makes you want to save and fun to see the total go up with each coin. If one has severe arthritis or a very young child you may have some trouble pushing the coins in, you do have to push them they don’t just drop in like a piggy bank.
I will say that it does count the Golden dollar coins as Quarters but thats no biggie for me as I hardly ever have any. If It has a bit more than it states all the better.
4 Stars Fun educational piggy bank
Easy to use, durable and fun. Our kids love to use this money jar and it has really been a great learning tool. It is easy for an adult to reset, for the money to be recounted and recounted.

1 Star Don’t buy this one
If I could find the receipt and felt like going thru the hassle,I would definetly return this product. We had this type of product before and expected the same quality. Not the same! There’s no PIN # the kids can enter, it doesn’t calculate the deposit every time and the bills are difficult to get in. It basically doesn’t work at all and it is right now lying on the floor with my 10yr olds wallet next to it because he got frustrated with it and left it there. There are better ATM banks out there. Don’t waste your money with this cheap imitation.
1 Star Put your money in a better bank— not this one!
We just got this bank and it was very disappointing. I am unable to deposit any bills, no matter how hard I’ve tried, and I can’t even fudge and just stuff the bills inside the bank and enter the deposit amount. I don’t know why it won’t let me enter any deposit amounts.
The coin slot does work, and my sons (ages 5 and
added multiple coins successfully, which were also added by the machine successfully. The ‘withdrawal’ mechanism does work, but without being able to add any bills, I think we’ll be returning this to the store.
2 Stars Crappy Product
If my kids didnt really like the bank/atm, I would return it. Its a pretty shoddy product. First off, if the coins slip while you are trying to insert them, it will count them anyway OR count it as the wrong coin (while trying to insert a quarter, my son’s hand slipped & it registered as 5 cents). This can happen a few times so you end up with an inaccurate amt of $ in the machine. And the dollar bills DO NOT go in easily, I couldnt get one in. Now, none of them were crisp dollars, so maybe that is what you need, but how many of us have all crisp dollars all the time? I had to put them in, crank the knob until the machine thought it was inserted, and click deposit & the amt. Its a pain.
My kids (6 and 4) were happy to have it, they dont get that its flawed…so we’ll probably keep it, but I would never recommend anyone buying it.
1 Star Not so good
I gave this to both of my kids for Christmas. My son was excited and tried to put his money in it. Inserting the change is easy, because the machine automatically recognizes it and adds it to the balance. The paper money is a different story. This is a manual process. The user winds the right side knob, puts the bill in the slot, press the button in the knob, and the machine winds the money in. When the machine does wind it in, it deposits the money in the holding area kind of like cramming it in a box. Sometimes the machine does not get the whole bill in. The next step in the deposit part is to press the deposit button, then press the denomination. Most of the time this does not work the first time. What I have had to do was manipulate the machine to understand I am depositing it. To withdraw, the user takes the money out of the holding area at the bottom, then tell the machine how much was taken out manually…press withdraw then the denomination. Overall, I do not like the machine because it is unreliable and frustrating. This might lead to the child not using it for its intended purpose.

5 Stars Having fun counting money!
This is a fun way count all that extra change and save for something special or just a nice dinner out!
I would recommend though that you push the coins completely through because if you don’t they pop back up and still count the coin and adds to your balance in the jug.
1 Star Good Idea Implementation Fails
While the jug holds a large quantity of coins the money counter, which this product is named for, looses count once the batteries die. That’s fine if you only want a money jug… but if part of the fun is for a child (or even adult like me) to know how much money inside then this product will disappoint. I believe a product should reliably do as it promises, especially if I spend my money on it. For this reason alone I give the product a very low score, otherwise it would have gotten high marks. As an FYI, the batteries died sometime between 9 and 15 months after start up.
3 Stars Good size!
This is a great money jar. It is very large, and sturdy enough to withstand some tumbles to the ground. We aren’t treating this as a toy, but as a saving jar. The one thing I’d change about this, or add, is to have a way to tweak the amount in the jar if you take out a quarter or a dime (etc.). Otherwise, it appears to be working just fine. It recognizes the types of coins, and flashes briefly that amount before totalling it with the rest of the coins in the jar. This is definitely better than the average “piggy bank”.
